I'm going to take a quick break from posting fall minis to share some photos from a crazy trip up the mountains to Blowing Rock, NC a couple weeks ago. The colors on the trees were so stunning on our drive up the canyon, but as soon as we hit Blowing Rock we ran into the thickest fog I've ever seen. I don't think I've ever seen fog like that during the middle of the day. It was so incredible! I'm a big fan of cloudy days and fog. In fact, I would just love to have a session in the type of fog we encountered in Blowing Rock. It was eerie, Halloween-y, and just so perfectly fall. So of course I was having the time of my life photographing my kids (and nephews and nieces) having the time of their lives playing the mounds of leaves. What an amazing memory we'll always have!
Heather and I know each other through our mutual friend Meghan who I was close friends with growing up. Once we headed off to college, Heather and Meghan roomed together which is how Heather and I met. Now all of these years later, Heather and I live in neighboring states (Meghan, come visit!)! Their kids were troopers in the freezing shade --a few mini mm's helped a bit-- with mostly giggles and smiles the whole time. Does it get any sweeter? I just loved, loved getting to photograph them. Their kids were just the cutest!
